Why a planner instead of a bigger button
Most of the difficulty in video work is not operating any single tool. It is knowing that there are four steps, which order they go in, and which knob on each one the destination actually cares about. Someone who has done it before knows to trim before compressing and to leave the size budget until last. Someone who has not spends an evening discovering it, usually by producing a file that is still too big.

- Does the AI look at my video?
- No, and it could not if it wanted to. Your footage never leaves your browser — that is the whole premise of VidClip. The planner is a text model that reads your description and, inside a tool, the numbers the page already read from the file: duration, dimensions, size. Those numbers go to the model; the video does not.
- Why does the order of steps matter so much?
- Because each step feeds the next. Trimming first means everything after it processes less footage, which is faster and avoids spending quality on frames you were going to throw away. Compressing last means the size budget applies to the pixels you actually end up with — compress first and a later crop or resize changes the size again, putting you back where you started.
- What can VidClip not do?
- There is no text, music, subtitles, transitions or effects — it is a set of transformation tools, not an editor. When a request needs something outside that, the planner says so in its note rather than inventing a step that does not exist.
- Is there a usage limit?
- Pro keys get 100 planner and advisor calls a day combined. That is far more than a person editing video will use and low enough to stop a script running up a bill. The counter resets 24 hours after your first call of the day.
